The reserve is home to over 420 species of birds, making Amakhosi perfect for birding enthusiasts. The reserve is home to three pairs of Crowned Eagles (Stephanoaetus coronatus) which hunts monkeys and small antelope.

The area has abundant wildlife and morning and evening game drives led by experienced rangers allow you to spot the regions amazing animals such as Africa’s Big Five- namely Lion, Elephant, Buffalo, Leopard and Rhino.

Frog Safari’s

At certain times of the year, Amakhosi invites its guests to discover the fascinating world of amphibians. At night time, our qualified guides will take you deep into the bush and let you marvel at the spectrum of colours and the loud calling of mating frogs.
