The Sanctuary:
The Game Sanctuary at Mount Meru offers a safe haven to African game and bird life. These animals live in peace and safety and residents include Eland, Ostrich, Waterbuck, Zebra, Buffalo and a prolific bird life.
Many of the animals at this sanctuary have been orphaned or badly injured. The aim of this Sanctuary is to provide a safe place of rehabilitation for animals and birds alike. The activities of the Sanctuary are financed by the Lodge; therefore by staying at Mount Meru during your spa vacation in Tanzania, you too are contributing to the well being of these special and often endangered animals.
