It is a 3.5 hour drive north of Johannesburg to Sediba Lodge and spa in Welgevonden Private Game Reserve, South Africa. This malaria free Big Five reserve in Limpopo Province is one of the largest privately owned reserves in South Africa, covering 37 000 hectares. Welgevonden is home to Leopard, Lion, Elephant, Rhino and Buffalo, also antelope species and over 270 species of bird.

By Air
Helicopter transfers can be arranged. Both Letlapa and Letlapala have helicopter landing pads at their lodges and you can be transferred from there. Flight time is approximately 1 hour. Private charters can also be arranged with complimentary transfers. It is approximately 20 min between Welgevonden airstrip and Sediba. Flight time from Johannesburg is approximately 1 hour.
By Road
- From Johannesburg
- Follow the N1 to Pretoria / Pietersburg
- At the Kranskop Toll Gate take the left hand option to (Nylstroom / Marble Hall.)
- Travel through Nylstroom and drive to Vaalwater
- Go straight through Vaalwater and about 24km (14 miles) from Vaal Water on the left hand side you will see the Welgevonden Main Gate
- Carry on past the Main Gate for about 22km (13.6 miles) until you come to the Schoongelegen Road which is a gravel road
- Turn Left into Schoongelegen Road and carry on for about 17km (10.5 miles) until you reach Welgevonden West Gate on your left hand side
- No Private Cars are allowed in the reserve, so you will have to park your car in the secure parking provided. There are regular pick-up times when you will be met by a ranger and transferred to your lodge which is about a 35 minute drive
