Directions to Shambala Private Game Reserve
By Air
Flying time is approximately 50 minutes. Guests can fly in to the nearby Welgevonden Game Reserve by private charter and be met by a Shambala Representative and transferred to Zulu Camp. Guests can also fly into Shambala by Helicopter and land at the Steyn Site or the Nelson Mandela Centre for Reconciliation.
By Road
From Pretoria / Johannesburg
- Driving time is approximately 2.5-3 hours
- Follow the N1 North to Polokwane
- At the Kranskop Toll Plaza keep to the extreme left of the tollbooth to Modimolle
- Drive straight through Modimolle to Vaalwater / Lephalale
- Drive Straight through Vaalwater
- Drive Past the Bakkerspas sign (10km / 6.2 miles) before Vaalwater
- The entrance to Shambala is the first big gate on the left 2km (1.2 miles) after the Bakkerspas sign

Safari Packages and Spa Treatments
Guests can enjoy soothing spa treatments surrounded by the tranquillity of the African bush. These include massages, facials, manicures and pedicures. A Shambala Game Reserve package is inclusive of accommodation, meals and many other extras.
The Shambala Spa is situated in a private bushveld setting near the riverside. A walkway leads through to a large double or 2 single treatment suites. The Spa deck overlooks the river bed and the sound of the water adds to the tranquil surroundings.
